4-15-08        At 0838 hours, the Cochranville Fire Company and Ambulance 28 were dispatched for an auto accident at
Route 10 and Gum Tree Road in Highland Township.  As more reports were received it was determined that there was
one patient entrapped in one of the involved vehicles.  As units from Cochranville arrived it was determined that the
vehicle would need to be moved in order to extricate the patient.  At that time Null's was requested to the scene for
assistance.  #94 responded from our shop.  The truck was winched away from the other truck giving rescuers room to
work to free the patient.  The patient was freed from the truck at 0920, and air lifted from the scene.  Thank You to Lena
Stolztfus,
Cochranville Fire Company for the photos of the extrication. We cleared the scene around 0945 while the
Pennsylvania State Police did there investigation.  We were called back to the scene at 1230.
When we were called back to the scene we responded with
#06, and #94.  Prior to moving the trucks the roadway had
to be swept to clear all the debris from both trucks.  #94
assisted #06 with loading the F-450 service truck.  #94
then towed the loaded tractor trailer back to our impound
yard for police inspection and weighing.
